Aftercare Instructions

WRAPPING

Day 1: Keep tattooed wrapped in the blue pad, white side in contact with the  tattoo. Treat this like a wound dressing. Every 3/4 hours you will need to  change this dressing. The process is below:

1. Unwrap blue pad from tattoo

2. Use warm water and antibacterial soap to clean tattoo until it no longer  feels slimy, rinse. Do not scrub your tattoo. Gently wash it.

3. Pat dry tattoo with paper towel

4. Re-wrap with fresh blue pad.

You will need to sleep with the tattoo wrapped for Day 1. Ensure a fresh  dressing before going to bed. You do not need to change your dressing while  you are sleeping. In hot weather the dressing needs to be changed every 2  hours.

Do not use any cream or aftercare during Day 1.

Day 2: Unwrap your tattoo when you wake up, give it a gentle clean - do not scrub. No  more pad required from this point forward. Tattoo still needs to be cleaned  twice a day with soap. You can start to use aftercare. Only use Dr.Pickles

Tattoo Balm (can be purchased in the sunscreen aisle at Woolworths).  Apply a thin amount to entire tattoo area 1 times a day. Not any more than  that.

Keep your tattoo out of the sun, you can not apply sunscreen on a healing  tattoo so use clothing to protect it.

GENERAL AFTERCARE

Healing takes 4-6 weeks

No submerging or swimming for 4 weeks. This includes spas and hot tubs.  You can shower and have water flow over the tattoo.

Do not get your tattoo sunburnt.

Do not apply fake tan to your tattoo until is fully healed.

No gym or working out for 2 weeks.

Do not pick at scabs or scratch your tattoo. Scabs are your friends, keep  them as long as possible.

Keep pets and children away from the healing area.

If your tattoo gets infected, don’t hesitate to contact me and/or seek medical  attention. This is uncommon but sometimes can happen, especially with  larger, saturated areas.

Thanks so much!
